Sophie was born and raised in Colorado before completing her undergraduate degree in Biology with a concentration in Statistics and Data Science at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. She is now earning a Master’s degree in Statistics at CU Denver through the Pathways in Genomic Data Science (PATH-GDS) program. Through PATH-GDS she hopes to find new ways to combine her biological and statistical background to contribute to reliable research and effective science communication. During her rotation with the Dashnow Lab, she will be studying the variability of tandem repeats in the general population as a proxy for mutation rate.
